Career transitions
One life. Make it count.
The average person spends a gazillion hours at work during the span of their career. Chances are that your work affects almost every other area of your life.Besides giving your life a lot of zest, your work is also your best shot at contributing to a better world.
Are you ready to go exploring for that ultimate combination of a good life, a really satisfying job and the opportunity to make a positive dent in the world?
Be curious. Go exploring.
It often begins with a small ache in your stomach on Sundays. Work has become joyless and meaningless, and you feel out of alignment. I was there. And I didn’t do anything about it until someone else took the decision for me.
Finding a new path was no walk in the park, and I was in desperate need of a guide. My primary goal today is to be that person I wish I had by my side six years ago. I would have given an arm and a leg to have someone to ask about where to start, what to focus on, and how to deal with my professional identity crisis.
My main learning has been this: Being curious and daring to test new things is so much more interesting than clinging to your old self and being afraid of what other people will say.
